WRITER I’m an experienced freelancer
who lives for offbeat assignments, for stories that call me to combine my skill as a journalist and as a science writer with
a splash of creativity and a dollop of verve.
Whether you want a news story with pizzazz or an attention-grabbing
press release, a carefully crafted report or a concise white paper, I can give you results that exceed your expectations.
Here you’ll find sample published articles. A resume listing my professional affiliations, awards and honors. My employment history. Act Locally, my column on sustainability and the environment, is published bi-weekly. EDITOR
I love helping people find the words and ways to tell their stories. Especially when we go beyond
wordsmithing and work together to match intention and outcome. It enriches me, personally and professionally, to: - Help an international expert transform her training
into a do-it-yourself handbook.
-
Craft a publication for a research university to tell real-life stories of adventures in learning.
- Transform an academic group’s prose into a compelling
book.
- Devise ways for a newspaper
to reach a special readership
-
Assist a city government in developing a web page its citizens could actually use.
- Allow a woman wrestling with physical disabilities to open her fictional world
to readers.
AUTHOR I was delighted when Inside Out Down Under: Stories from a Spiritual Sabbatical won 2008 Indie Excellence awards – for Memoir and Travel. Two different categories!
It entwines a spiritual quest and a journey to the Land of the Dreaming, embracing several classifications. The story
includes precise observations of the people, plants and animals of Australia. Explores traditional Aboriginal beliefs and
my experiences in a women’s spiritual circle. Examines the life force connections between Earth’s oldest continent,
traditional people and today’s world.

The
view from where I sit and work and study and dream is a constant reminder of the Navajo song about walking in beauty.
Read them. Listen. Go to hear them speak whenever
you can.
Looking out my window, I’m inspired by the vibrancy of the natural world, the paradox of its ever-changing
constancy, its profound lessons about balance and connections. It renews me as every cell of my body remembers: I am part
of Earth and she is part of me. My dream is to live each day from this awareness.
Do dreams call you? Are
you longing to remember your dreams? To reconnect with your deepest self? Would you like me to email you
information about my next seminar, class or workshop?
